Do not be afraid!

There was a time when the disciples of Jesus were traveling by boat to the city of Capernaum. It was night, and to their dismay, a strong wind started blow upon them as they rowed. The storm made their journey difficult, and they were afraid.

Suddenly, Jesus appeared in the midst of the storm and spoke to them. “It is I; be not afraid.” As He spoke, Jesus gave them a reason not to be afraid. His reason was not that they would instantly be at their destination when He got into the boat, even though that is what happened. The reason Jesus gave to His disciples was that He was there, in the midst of their situation.

Are you going through a storm today? Jesus’ words to you are: “Do not be afraid,” His presence with you is the reason. Trust Him. He knows what to do to calm your storm and bring you safely to your destination.

Thanks so much SR. I appreciate your kind words and encouragement. God’s Words are true. If we applied them to our lives, we will receive that which He has in store for us-abundant blessings.

Sometimes all we can do is trust and continue marching on, praising Him

Thanks a million for you comment Holly. God is the same Yesterday, Today and forever. He calmed the storm for His disciples and He promised to do the same for you and I too. However, we must trust Him, because He is always in the midst of our storms. God blesses.

We are not promised that life will be a bed of roses when we become Christians – and I am so thankful for that. If we never experienced difficulties, we would never experience the amazing reality of His presence with us and His undertaking for us as we go through those difficulties. Yes, He is ALWAYS with us – 24/7 – but it is in a very special way that we depend entirely on Him when we face brick walls.

We serve an amazing God who DELIGHTS to undertake for us when we trust Him to do so.

    • Noel Williams (prhayz) www.prhayz.com says :

Indeed we serve an amazing God! He is always there for us. His desire is to calm the storm. However, we need to trust Him without doubting, because doubt breeds fear. His message to us is: “Do not be afraid. I am with you”.
Thanks so much Angela for your input. May the good Lord bless and keep you and make His face shine upon you.

I understand this message more everyday. Understanding this message has changed the way I pray, the way I love as I acknowledge am grateful for God’s presence in every second of my life; the way he connects every situation I am in to another blessing. Now, I find it difficult to see a situation as a disastrous storm because when I look within to God I realise I need to stay strong and be patient as he is about to bless me again :)

    • Noel Williams (prhayz) www.prhayz.com says :

Thank you so much for your input MissCaryl. Life is full of surprises, most of the wish we cannot handle by ourselves. Some of our trials need divine intervention. Unfortunately, we frequently engulf ourselves in the mire of our situations instead of giving them to Jesus.
However, I have learned that God is always in the midst of our storm, and all we need to do is grasp His out stretch hand.

Noel, I read this post a day or so ago! Thank you! It is so very encouraging to know, that the reason to not fear is because of the presence of the Lord! That is such a blessing! Our God is omnipresent! Praise God! “Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? Psalm 139: 1 – 14, is also very encouraging! Thank you, again! May the Lord bless you, abundantly!
